Function and type of ball mill lapping body

The function of the grinding body in the ball mill is to break the block material fed into the mill and grind it into fine powder. The particle size of the material just entering the mill is about 20mm, and it should eventually be ground into fine powder below 0.08mm (the rest of the sieve can not exceed 15%). Grinding body to just feed into the large material (coarse grinding bin) to violent impact, auxiliary grinding, smashing them. This period is also unavoidable between grinding bodies collision. The strong sound when the mill is running mainly comes from the coarse grinding bin. As the particle size of the material decreases, it will flow to the next bin, and the grinding body turns to the grinding as the main sound gradually weakens, and the grinding is sent out of the grinding.

 

Different types and specifications of grinding bodies used in different grinding bins
Steel ball: a kind of grinding body widely used in the ball mill, which has a point contact with the material in the grinding process and has a large impact on the material. It is mainly used in the first bin (feed end, also coarse grinding bin), the two bins of double bin closed circuit grinding (coarse and fine grinding bin), and the first and second bins of tube grinding machine. The diameter of the ball should be between 15 and 125mm. According to the requirements of the grinding process, the diameter of the ball in the coarse grinding chamber should be 50~110mm and the diameter of the ball in the fine grinding chamber should be 20~50mm.
Steel section: in the fine grinding bin of the mill, the material is mainly grinding, steel (iron) section can replace the steel ball, its shape is short cylindrical or truncated conical, and the material line contact, grinding effect is strong, but the impact is small, for fine grinding bin is more suitable.
Steel rod: Steel rod is a kind of grinding body commonly used in wet grinding, with a diameter of 40~90mm, and the length of the rod is 50~100mm shorter than the length of the mill.

 

No matter what kind of grinding body, the material has higher requirements
It should have high wear resistance and impact resistance. The quality of its material affects the grinding efficiency and the running rate of the mill.
The material is hard, wear-resistant and not easy to break. For example, high chromium cast iron is a kind of alloy white cast iron with high chromium content, which is characterized by wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and has considerable toughness. Low chromium cast iron contains less chromium element, high toughness chromium cast iron is poor, but has good wear resistance, used as the ball, iron section and fine grinding bin lining plate is suitable.
