Working Principle of Vertical Stirred Media Mill


1. The new feed is first fed into the pump pool before the hydrocyclone, fully mixed with the discharge from the tower mill and the water supply from the main water tank in the pump pool, and after reaching the slurry concentration required by the process, it is sent into the pump pool by the slurry pump The hydrocyclone performs particle size classification, and the finer materials that meet the particle size requirements of the process are discharged from the overflow port of the hydrocyclone into the next process equipment, and the coarser materials that do not meet the particle size requirements of the process are discharged from the grit outlet of the hydrocyclone and returned To the feed port of the tower mill.
2. The material from the hydrocyclone is fed into the tower mill from the position of the feed inlet of the tower mill. When the motor drives the spiral agitator to rotate at a constant speed through the reducer, the grinding medium and the material are subjected to centrifugal force, drag force and friction force, combined with gravity.
3. Macroscopically, the slurry and the steel ball make regular circular motion, which is manifested as a spiral rising between the screw lifting speed and the slurry conveying speed inside the scope of the stirring spiral projection area, and in the annular area outside the scope of the stirring spiral projection area, the inner fluid spirals upward, and the outer fluid spirals downward.
The upward mainstream and the downward countercurrent are formed in reverse contact, forming a vortex, resulting in boundary layer separation.
4. Microscopically, due to the unbalanced force between the grinding medium and the material, the velocity gradient between the fluid layers is formed, so that the combined effects of local shear force, extrusion force and impact force are generated between the material and the material, and between the material and the steel ball. To achieve the effect of fine grinding.
5. After grinding, the fine-grained materials smaller than the cutting particle size rise with the slurry flow, and the coarse-grained materials larger than the cutting particle size are circulated back to the bottom of the mill for a new round of grinding to achieve the purpose of gravity classification inside the tower mill. Overgrinding and agglomeration of particles are greatly reduced.
The internally classified slurry overflows from the discharge port of the tower mill located on the upper body into the pump pool, thus forming a closed-circuit grinding of the material.
